Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)
The world's beloved pizza-loving superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.
Check out here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. Everything mentioned below releases on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before we get into the many special decks and bundles available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let’s explore a few shell-shocking features. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat powerful creatures into the battlefield when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It counts as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability is staying, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.
Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior game designer stated. “However in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”
That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the set by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards outside of your main deck, many players were. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.
In any case, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:
As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype built around artifact cards.
“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power
Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander based on how you combine them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone instead of only one). Check them out for yourself:
The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to popularity. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 land cards.)
What will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.
Standard Bundle (Regular)
As per usual, Wizards is offering a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:
- 9 Standard Boosters
- Fifteen Foil basic lands
- Fifteen Regular land cards
- 2 Reference cards
- One Traditional foil promotional card
- One Large spindown life counter
- One storage box
Pizza-Themed Bundle
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:
- Nine Play Boosters
- 1 Premium Booster
- 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
- Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
- Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
- Two helper cards
- One Oversized life tracker
- One Card-storage box
For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza. There are six distinct pizza promos available.
The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This unique product is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:
- 12 Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
- 1 Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
- 90 Regular land cards (to build your deck)
- Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
- One drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)
Turtle Team-Up
Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.
The general idea here that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
